Have you ever had those days where you feel extremely anxious yet you  have no idea why? Well, today was definitely one of those days for me. I tend to either read or bake during those particular anxiety-ridden days. Today, I baked! However, as you all may already know, I like using  ingredients I already have around the kitchen. So in the spirit of using things accessible to me, I found these flavored Quaker Instant Oatmeal packets and made cookies! These cookies are magical!  Not only do I no longer feel anxious, I feel slightly healthy because they aren’t filled with chocolate.

Ingredients

1 3/4 C of all-purpose flour

1/2 C light brown sugar

1/4 C Sugar

1 1/2 tsp of baking soda

1 large egg

1 stick of unsalted butter

1/2 tsp of salt

1/4 C of roasted peanuts (chopped)

2 tsp of vanilla extract

1/2 C of milk

2 sacks or single servings of Quaker Instant Oats (Maple Brown Sugar)

1/4 C of chocolate chips (optional)

1. Run! Quick! Preheat that oven to 350 degrees. No, don’t question me! Just do iiiit!

2. In a large bowl, cream the two sugars and butter until the cookie dough caterpillar seems ripened enough to leave the nest.

3. To the caterpillar-baby-cookie-dough, add the vanilla and egg; mix only until the ingredients are well incorporated. The time has come in the cookie-making process to add the flour, baking soda,  and milk! Gradually add the dry ingredients first, then start adding the milk.

4. The mixture is almost done! Throw in the contents of the Quaker Oats packages, the peanuts, and chocolate chips (if you’d like) into the caterpillar-cookie-dough for the time has come for it to become a butterfly.

5. Grease your cookie’s cocoon and bake anywhere from 7-9 minutes or until they become golden brown butterflies (or you know, the actual golden brown colors)

*Cookie butterflies do not exist, I apologize if you believed your cookies would turn into them*
