Maybe you don’t need the whole world to love you, you know? Maybe you just need one person- Kermit the Frog
I love this quote. I love it because it can relate to any kind of relationship. “Maybe you just need one person” maybe that person is you. It doesn’t always have to be a significant other or someone else.
I’ve always struggled with my self-esteem but always up to a point. I’m not constantly self-deprecating. There are plenty of things I like about myself and THAT does not make me conceited. I’ve noticed a lot of people like to throw that word around. I’ve also noticed when this word is used in a way to harm others, it says more about the person saying it than the person that word is directed towards. We’re all fighting our battles here. There’s no need to be foul to each other, right?
Did you know?
You can like things about yourself. You can love yourself and you can have bits that you hate about yourself. It’s fine. It’s more than okay because that just means there is room to grow. Nobody is perfect. Everyone has things they wish they could change about themselves just like everyone has bits they love. Loving yourself isn’t the easiest thing. This takes time, effort, and growth. It also doesn’t happen immediately but it’s something you should always be working towards. Additionally, feeling upset about yourself and needing time away from others doesn’t mean your selfish or cruel. Everyone needs a break sometimes.
You do you, boo.
