A few days ago, I spent the entire day offline. I was feeling overwhelmed and fed up with media which is odd because I love technology. However, I feeling drained. I was tired and I somewhat felt that technology had taken over my life. Not to mention, I missed the feeling of logging off. Don’t get me wrong! I think technology is wonderful. I’ve spent most of my life playing video games, watching television shows, and being generally obsessed with anything technologically related and innovative. I love what social media is. It’s wonderful! I love what it stands for and what we can do with it. . Unfortunately, I need to learn how to distance myself from it sometimes because I can get a little too involved. I don’t mean to log off and never use social media or technology again. I just need to learn when to disconnect because there’s so much more to me than living for technology.

Did you know?

You will need to disconnect sometimes and that’s okay. There are times where you will feel the need to be by yourself. There’s this peace that’s felt when you don’t have information constantly thrown at you.  That peace is so refreshing and rejuvenating. I swear, spending a day by yourself is one of the best things you can do for you. It helps you clear your mind. Who knows? You might discover bits about yourself you never knew just because you took the time to take a closer look at who you are and what you think. The older I become, the more I realize how important it is to assign some time for myself. A special YOU time for introspection and relaxation. I firmly believe that we are all students of life and everyday has something to teach us. I’d like to take the time to think about what I learned today and how that might affect me as a person. Once I learn these things, I can get on social media and share my discoveries with everyone! It’s a win win situation.
