Is anyone else as enthused, stoked, motivated, and just overall into how close Spring is? This winter wasn’t brutal. Let’s be honest here… specially for us here in Dallas. This winter was a breeze! I hardly had to layer up which is crazy. We didn’t have any freak snow storms or anything. Well… we did get a tornado but that’s not so much winter related, is it? But that’s beside the point, if you’re like me, winter isn’t for you. You like the sun. You like heat. You like bright colors assaulting your face alongside the crips summer breeze. Yes, friends. Spring is nearly here which is why I’m all about getting ready for it.

Here are a few things I do to get ready for spring:

  1. Garden plan or just plant or try not to kill a green thing
If I haven't killed this plant yet, you can do this.

I know what you’re thinking “Garden life isn’t for me! WHAT IF I KILL IT?!”.  I don’t blame you for being scared about destroying an innocent plant life. I encourage you to use that fear to take care of this plant. Do it. Take the plunge! Make your home look a little springier with that green thing. You never know, you might just end up discovering your love for gardening in the process.

2. Sundresses! YAS! Bare-legged sun fun!

This is one of my springtime outfit I wore this week. I wanted to summon spring and I honestly think this outfit did it.

Spring is all about dresses, skirts, and bare-legged fun. No pants allowed. Well, shorts are allowed and shorts under your dresses are always a good idea. I’d suggest getting a cute new dress or creating some cute springtime outfits with the clothes you already own. There’s something about creating a seasoned inspired outfit that gets you excited for that season. I do it every season! You have a cardigan that’s screaming springtime? Wear it! Have a headscarf you’re all about? Put it ooooon! I also personally believe that this helps summon the season forth. If I wear this sunhat, the sun is bound to come out, right?

3. Discover your springtime face

I bought a few items that I wanted to try out during the spring. That Garnier Micellar water, though. That Wet n' Wild brush was a lot nicer than I expected too and just a dollar!

What do you  mean discover my springtime face, Mely? That’s exactly what I mean. Take a good look at yourself, and thinking about what you want your springtime face to look like. Do you want to switch up some skin care products? What do you want to do in regards to your eyebrows? Dark lip or spring lip? Forever red lip? Take a moment and thinking about what you’d like your day to day makeup look to be like. Don’t just think about your makeup but also take time to consider your skincare. I know I’ve been going for my Hello Kitty An Apple a Day tinted lip balm  lately and I’ve been using a less heavy moisturizer. There might be things you want to switch out now that the sun is out so don’t be afraid to do it.

4. Flats? Sneakers? Cutesy sandals? YES

No more big old boots! UGG season is officially over! It’s time to take out those cute colorful sandals and flats you’ve been staring down for the past three weeks. Tell them you’ve missed them because I’m sure they’ve missed you. This kind of goes with creating your entire outfit for spring. However, I always felt that shoes make the outfit so they deserve their own spot.

5. Springtime scent

That's what it looks like! I got this image from Sephora.com Don't own it but oh-so love this scent.

I’m a vanilla, cookie, delicious sweet scents kind of gal, but during springtime I like to use more floral yet fruity scents. I now, right? Springtime? Flower scents? Revolutionary, Mely. Whatever, Internet! I can do what I want. I don’t always use the same scents but “Tender Romance” by Ralph Lauren has got me going straight up bananas. It’s the perfect springtime scent! It has everything I need. It is all I am looking for. I will bathe in this.
